Major Capital Works
The NSW Government is committed to creating better, safer and more public spaces announcing in November 2020 an extra $54 million over the next two years as part of the 2020-21 NSW Budget.
Funding in the budget allocated $16 million to Sydney Olympic Park Authority focusing on increasing participation in sport and cultural activities and improving visitor experiences at key facilities including upgrade of the Quaycentre, enhancement of Bicentennial Park and refurbishment of the Aquatic Centre.
Quaycentre will undergo an exciting list of some major capital works, in particular
- Flooring and retractable seating replacement in the Main Arena
- LED Lighting replacement in the Main Arena
- New chillers as part of the HVAC system
- Sectional replacement of external cladding around parts of the building
To ensure the safety of all of our patrons and staff during this time the Main Arena will be closed from 19 March – 12 July. Hall of Legends will close from the 21 May – 5 July (these dates may subject to change). There will be some minor disruption or changes when visiting Quaycentre during the works especially Parking in P7. We understand that this may affect your visit to Quaycentre and we apologise for the inconvenience.
This is much-needed works and the most significant investment to Quaycentre in many years. These improvements will help ensure our facility is available for long term use into the future.
Regular updates will be provided at quaycentre.com.au
