Government information public access

Government information public access

In 2010 the NSW Government replaced the Freedom of Information Act 1989 (NSW) with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW).

A comprehensive system was created for public access to government information.

This promoted open, accountable, fair and effective government in NSW, members of the public have the right to access government information.

This right is restricted only where there is an overriding public interest against disclosure. The public access to government information system is overseen by the Office of the Information Commissioner.

If you would like to report suspicions of fraud, corruption and maladministration by Sydney Olympic Park Authority employees and/or contractors, please email ethics@dpie.nsw.gov.au.

Our Resource Centre contains a vast range of publicly available information including environmental reports, annual reports, policy documents, research papers and promotional material. Some publications may only be available on the payment of a fee, and we will advise you if that is the case.
